Social
Development
This program helps increase language and communication skills of
participants. They will learn confidence, increase their social
networks and have fun doing it! Programs may include: Music Therapy,
Coffee House, Choir, Seniors Tea, Card Club, Friday Dance, Music
Appreciation.
Recreation/Leisure
The Recreation/Leisure program helps participants become more
involved in their community and increase their health awareness by
focusing on fitness, nutrition and overall well-being. Programs
include: Swimming, Dance class, Fitness Exercise, Aerobics, Bowling,
Hiking Club, gardening, Sewing and Knitting, Sports Club, Art
Appreciation, Pottery, Crafts.
Education
Programs
Participants are assisted with their
educational goals by empowering them with the skills and knowledge
they will need for further education or occupations. Programs include:
Reading, Writing, Current Events, Career Awareness, Computers and the
Internet, Travel Club, Sign Language.
Volunteer
Placement Program
The Volunteer Placement Program is
designed to help participants feel valued in the community as people
who can assist others. Programs may include: Shopping, Seniors
Services, Volunteer Awareness.
LifeSkills Program
Participants are helped with independence, safety issues and
positive self image. It will increase their self-confidence and assist
them in daily living skills. Programs may include: Hygiene, Etiquette,
Money Management and Recognition, Transit Awareness, Food Preparation,
Health, Social Skills, Safety Awareness, Assertiveness, Advocacy.
